Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

Compulsory Basic Training photographA current CBT certificate is required by holders of provisional driving licences in order to ride a moped or learner motorcycle.

Full car licence holders need a CBT to ride learner motorcycles but may ride a moped without a CBT if the licence was gained before Feb 1st 2001, although training is advised.

Those passing the car test after this date need to complete a CBT course before riding a moped.

A CBT is also required before taking a full licence test.

Course Details

The CBT course fee is £95.00 (£125 if we provide a moped or motorcycle)

In the event of the CBT not being completed on the first day then further training is £60/day, continued provision of a motorcycle or moped costs £30.00.

Up to half a days training can be provided at £30/day plus £30 for bike and insurance.

CBT candidates must bring their driving licence and proof of insurance if using own vehicle. Suitable covering must be worn which covers all bare skin apart from hands and face.

When the CBT certificate has been obtained our trainers and staff members will be only too glad to discuss further training requirements to obtain your “A2” or “Direct Access” licences and tailor the appropriate course to your abilities.
